A GREAT British Bake Off finalist visited town last week, bringing a homemade cake with him.
Dr Tamal Ray, who featured in the sixth series of the TV phenomenon, baked a special treat for the Royal College of Anaesthetists celebrated its 25th birthday at the Park Royal Hotel in Stretton on Thursday, March 16.
A trainee anaesthetist himself, Dr Tamal donned the oven gloves once more as the Manchester and Liverpool Medical Societies held a joint celebration of the milestone.
Dr Tamal said: “The pressure situations in the Great British Bake Off were good training for life as an anaesthetist.
“Anaesthetists are the patient’s doctor before, during and after surgery, providing care and support at a critical time.
“It’s a pleasure to help celebrate 25 years of landmarks in anaesthetics and share some of my other skills with my colleagues.”
