RESIDENTS are being urged to keep 'doing their little bit' to 'make the town a lot better' amid funding cuts for the council.

Cllr Tony Higgins, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, has issued the plea as concerns over some of the borough's services continue to be voiced.

He said: "Some people don't see the cuts as it is not always evident but it is a very tough time for the borough, with services stretched due to funding cuts.

"We are all in this together, everyone is striving to make Warrington a better place.

"I am confident selfless residents and community groups will continue working hard and giving up their time to keep our streets clean and preserving our green spaces.

"It is about everyone doing their little bit – as a whole it will make the town a lot better.

"It's great to see many community groups taking up the challenge, whether in the form of litter picking, volunteering or simply supporting community-led projects.

"This can only be positive for their communities and therefore the town as a whole."
