POPULAR sports author Tom Palmer visited pupils at Sacred Heart Primary School and left them inspired to write their own stories.
Tom has written 37 books including the Football Academy series and the Foul Play series, as well as tales about rugby, spies, war, ghosts and detectives.
He spent the day at the Selby Street school helping to promote reading.
The writer, whose work is published by Puffin, said he was especially impressed by the children’s enthusiasm and the school’s approach to books.
