GREAT Sankey Parish Council is helping reduce disruption for residents while work is completed at the new Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub.
Councillors have agreed to let trucks and vans working on the leisure centre access the site through the parish playing field, off Lingley Green Avenue.
It is hoped this will make it easier for people living along Barrow Hall Lane and pupils travelling to Great Sankey High School to avoid the extra construction traffic.
A spokesman for the parish council said: “We are happy to support LiveWire with this development and are impressed with the progress so far.
“The project is progressing well with the steel structure now in place and the brickwork starting. Work on the new access to the car park will also be starting shortly.”
The playing field will still be available for the groups who use it.
