FOR the past 11 years ladies have stepped out of their homes dressed in pink with glittery accessories and a smile on their faces to help support St Rocco’s Hospice.

But this year, to celebrate the 12th Starlight Walk, the charity has given the event a new look and a new date.

A spokesman from the hospice said the famous pink t-shirts have been retired in favour of a different coloured top for walkers, which will be unveiled soon.

And girls aged from 12 years old will be invited to join their mums, aunts, grandmas and friends on the ladies-only walk, which sets off from Orford Jubilee Hub at midnight on June 24.

The event has also been moved to Saturday rather than Friday because supporters said it would be very difficult to take part in the late night walk if they work on Saturday mornings.

As part of the ‘glow for it’ theme, this year’s fundraisers are set to light up the town with a rainbow of bright accessories marking the 6.5 mile route.

Early bird registration costs £12 and is available until April 30 at starlightladieswalk.co.uk and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
