STAFF at the Halliwell Jones Stadium have been thanked after coming to the aid of a supporter who collapsed during Friday night’s game between Warrington Wolves and Castleford Tigers.

A Castleford fan was taken ill during the match, and is now stable in the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

The exact cause of her collapse is as yet unknown but tests are ongoing and the woman could return home to Yorkshire tomorrow, Monday.

Castleford Tigers have thanked stewards, medical staff and fans at the Halliwell Jones Stadium for their assistance and well-wishes.

Chief executive Steve Gill said: “I have spoken to Warrington Wolves personally and thanked them on behalf of Castleford Tigers for the kindness and professionalism of their match day staff.

“Warrington’s chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick will be making a visit to see our fan shortly and has kindly offered transport to bring them both home together.

“I must take this opportunity to thank Karl for his help in this matter to thank both sets of fans for their concerns and well wishes.”
