DID you see the flock of sheep on the loose in Penketh this morning?
Police were called to a house on Walkers Lane after one resident discovered the sheepish animals in his garden today, Friday.
Dad Barrie Stirk spoke of his surprise at the uninvited guests following their early morning arrival.
The 82-year-old, who lives with his wife Betty, said: "I woke up at about 7.15am and I looked outside my window.
"I couldn't believe it - there were about 30 sheep in the garden munching away."
The police were called and officers have since been able to trace their owners, who picked up the flock at around 10am.
"It's not how I was expecting to spend my morning," joked Barrie.
"Luckily it was a nice morning for it."
Officers have since tweeted about their response efforts.
