CHESHIRE Police have warned motorists to be prepared after the Met Office issued a severe weather warning for the county.
Storm Doris is due to arrive tomorrow, Thursday, with forecasters predicting strong winds and heavy rain across Cheshire.
The warning for Cheshire is due to come into force at 5am with winds initially expected to reach 50 to 60mph across the county.
The peak of the storm is due to hit between 10am and 2pm when winds are expected to reach up to 60 to 80mph.
Inspector Richard Rees from Cheshire Police said “We are working closely with our partner agencies to monitor the situation and will seek to minimise disruption across the county.
“However, with winds expected to reach 70mph, road closures are a possibility and I would advise all motorists to allow extra time for their journey and take extra care while travelling."
