TV presenter Sarah Beeny will no doubt receive a warm welcome if she heads to the town anytime soon.

As the property guru has ranked Warrington as the second best place to live in the UK.

The Channel 4 favourite revealed the results last night, Tuesday, during TV show UK's Best Place to Live.

Warrington was pipped to the top spot by South Ribble and was joined in the top 10 by nearby regions Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester.

And the decision seemed to go down rather well on Twitter...

The TV show ranked areas using the latest data on affordable housing, jobs, business, wellbeing, culture, transport and family life.

A spokesman added: "Each year close to a million people in their 20s move around the UK, so Sarah's aim is to help this age group think differently about where they could live.

"The best places aren’t necessary the quintessential chocolate box villages, but where you have the greatest chance to forge a new life.

"Which city, town or village could be right for those who struggle to get on the property ladder or find a job near them?

"Sarah wants to help us think differently about where might be best for us."

Prodcuers added the list looked at the range of factors and practical decisions which will most affect our quality of life now and in the future.

Sarah added: "I’ve worked in property all my life and I’ve learned that it’s not just about pretty high streets and well decorated interiors.

"To find the right place to live, what’s essential is planning, planning, planning.

"Instinct alone is never enough – because often, what we think we know about a place simply isn’t true."

Warrington Borough Council leader Terry O'Neill welcomed news of the town's high ranking.

Cllr O'Neill said: "Once again Warrington is riding high in the charts as a great place to live, work, visit and do business.

"The work we are doing as a council to improve the borough's infrastructure, education and training standards, social care, health and wellbeing, cultural offering and attractiveness to businesses is clearly paying off."
