A CHEF who has whipped up meals for famous musicians and sports stars from around the world is set to turn up the heat in the boxing ring.

Businessman Myles Smethurst, from Latchford, is in training for a charity boxing match to raise funds for St Rocco's Hospice.

The 34-year-old, who runs Eat Clean Cuisine in Latchford and Hale, will be hoping to serve up a knockout in the ring on Sunday, February 26, when he competes in aid of the hospice for people with life-limiting illnesses.

He said: "It is always something I have wanted to do so I just thought why not.

"Before I opened Eat Clean Cuisine I would always say I wanted to do something and then I never did it.

"Now that's changed.

"It's been hard work but I'm excited."

Myles, who has been a chef for 17 years, has been undergoing an intensive training regime with the help of professionals including Rachel Aldersley from Hatton Academy Cheshire.

For the past eight weeks she has been putting Myles through his paces to make sure he is in tip-top condition for the match at the Park Royal Hotel at 4pm.

He said: "It is something I have not done before and it is a way of raising money for St Rocco's.

"It's a cause close to the hearts of many people in Warrington."

Myles is no stranger to working under pressure.

He has previously worked in the kitchens of Marco Pierre White, Gary Rhodes, Aiden Byrne and Paul Heathcote.

Myles has also hosted private dinner parties for Michael Jordan, Ronan Keating, Andy Cole and the Artic Monkeys as well as cooking Christmas dinner for footballer Michael Owen and his family.

Tickets for the charity boxing match are priced at £25 and can be purchased from Eat Clean Cuisine on Kingsway South.
