A PLAYGROUND in Woolston Park has been reopened after the completion of £70,000 regeneration work.
The play area off Poulton Crescent has been given a complete refurbishment since work began in October having been given greater accessibility as well as new equipment and furniture.
Renamed the Lime Tree Play Area by the Friends of Woolston Park, the woodland-themed playground is aimed at children aged between two and eight.
Youngster from Puddleducks Day Nursery on Epping Drive headed to the play area’s grand opening to test out the new facilities.
Cllr Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council’s executive board member for culture, leisure and community, said: “This fantastic new play area is part of our ongoing investment in our parks and green spaces.
“Children and families will benefit from a much more colourful, exciting, safe and accessible play area.
“It’s yet another great reason for local people to get out and about and enjoy some fresh air and exercise at Woolston Park.”
