FIREFIGHTERS were called to a 'deliberate' car fire in Sankey Bridges last night, Sunday, and a flat filled with smoke in Birchwood this morning, Monday.
At around 7.30pm yesterday a crew from Warrington rushed to Forrest Way where they discovered a hatchback car in flames.
A firefighter wearing breathing equipment used two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
This morning at around 8.45am a fire engine from Birchwood was called to a flat on Deanwater Close in Birchwood.
The apartment was filled with smoke, caused by clothes drying on electrical heaters.
A high pressure fan was used to clear the air.
Luckily nobody was reported hurt at either incident.
