TEACHERS, parents and pupils are invited to ask questions about plans for seven schools across the town to team up as part of a new multi-academy trust (MAT).

Priestley College, Penketh High, Beamont Collegiate Academy, Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High, Bridgwater High, Penketh South Primary and Great Sankey Primary are planning to create one of the largest trusts in the north west and one of the first MATs to include a faith school.

The trust would be responsible for more than 6,000 youngsters.

A meeting will take place on Monday at Great Sankey Primary School at 7pm and a statement from the schools involved said: “We have already held one public meeting last week at Bridgewater High School and have been approached by several school leaders across Warrington asking if they would be welcome to attend a second public meeting.

“The answer is of course a resounding yes and given the positive interest the MAT is attracting we'd like to extend the invitation to all.”

A public consultation has opened into the proposals and for more information visit tcat.uk.com or email info@tcat.uk.com.
