TO mark a century since Roald Dahl was born, bookworms at Culcheth Primary School now have the perfect place to enjoy some of their favourite pieces of literature.
The PTA at the school on Warrington Road donated funding to buy book benches which are carved into the shape of semi-open books.
Pupils designed pictures for the benches based on the characters from Roald Dahl’s books.
Amanda Dodd, head teacher, said: “The benches have been varnished to withstand the British weather and will be positioned outside on the infant and junior yards as a permanent reminder of the work and life of the great author.”
