THE daughter of a missing man from Orford has issued a desperate plea for help to trace her dad.

Mum-of-two Lucy Bedford has been unable to sleep since she discovered her dad Marcus Shaw had not returned to his home in Orford at the weekend.

The 27-year-old said: "I know the helicopter is out today and there is a big search party.

"I've not been sleeping. This is extremely out of character for him.

"He never leaves his phone and his phone and car have been found near to The Jolly Thresher in Lymm.

"He doesn't know anyone in Lymm."

Dad-of-four Marcus Shaw, who also has three younger daughters aged four to 13, was reported missing by his family after heading to Urban Edge hairdressers on Hallfields Road then to visit his girlfriend in Padgate.

Officers have confirmed the 43-year-old, who had recently passed a HGV course, was last seen at 2pm on Saturday, January 14, at an address on Keswick Avenue.

He is described as white, 6ft, of a stocky build, with short blonde hair, blue eyes and tattoos on both his arms.

Marcus was wearing a Jack Wolfskin fleece over a blue top, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black Adidas trainers.

Lucy added: "If my dad is reading this I just want him to know that we want him home. We are worried.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone who is helping in the search."

Inspector Jez Taylor added: “It has now been nearly two days since Marcus was last seen, which is totally out of character, and we are becoming increasingly concerned about his welfare.

“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and information currently suggests that he may be in the Lymm area.

“I urge anyone who believes that they may have seen Marcus or anyone matching his description to contact us on 101.

“I’d also like to appeal directly to Marcus himself to make contact with us and let us know that he is safe and well."

Anyone who may have seen Marcus can call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 817 of January 14.
