COLOURFUL rockets created by pupils at St Joseph's Primary in Penketh were launched into space from the school playground.
Youngsters in years one and two worked with students in year six to build their eye-catching bottle rockets, which were then propelled into the air using vinegar and baking soda.
A missile designed by a year five student was last seen sailing into the clouds above the Walton Avenue school after it was launched using air pressure.
