POORLY pets in Birchwood will not have far to travel as a new vet surgery is set to open inside the shopping centre at the end of the month.

Willows Veterinary Group, which also runs vets in Wilderspool, Latchford and Orford, decided to launch the new centre after seeing an increasing number of pet owners from Birchwood at their other surgeries.

Head vet Philippa Bradley will be in charge of the new team of five and said: “It’s a really exciting development for us and we have had some great feedback from our existing Birchwood clients who are really pleased that we are opening a new surgery nearby.

“Being closer to hand makes life easier for them and we are looking forward to being an integral part of the local community.

“We also offer a full out-of-hours service.”

Residents and their pets are invited to have at look around at an open day on January 28 between 10am and 2pm.
