FIREFIGHTERS were called to a kitchen fire in Latchford and a bedroom fire in Lymm yesterday, Sunday.
At around 1pm, a crew from Stockton Heath Fire Station arrived at a home on Budworth Avenue where they discovered a washing machine fire.
A hose reel jet was used to put out the flames and a large fan was also used to clear smoke from the house.
Later, at 6pm, a fire engine from Warrington Fire Station was called to Northway following reports of a blaze in a bedroom.
The fire was caused by a lit cigarette which had burned the carpet.
Firefighters cut away the burnt area and then used a high pressure fan to get rid of the smoke, which had filled the room.
Fortunately no casualties were reported at either of these fires.
