DAKOTA Park in Chapelford could be home to one of the town’s newest and biggest festivals thanks to former Wire FM star Pete Pinnington.

The DJ is hoping to fulfil his lifelong dream of running a family friendly festival with live entertainment and music.

Pete, who founded the events company Pete Pinnington Presents 10 years ago, is inviting residents to have their say on his plans for Chapelfest.

He said: “Running a festival is something I’ve had an ambition for throughout my events career.

“With our understanding of how to best engage with families in particular, I’m excited that it’s going to be my company – Pete Pinnington Presents – who will be delivering a series of festivals around the UK and it makes sense to launch one in my hometown, which will offer something different, to Warrington and it’s communities.”

Pete said he chose Dakota Park because it would be easy for residents in Whittle Hall, Great Sankey, Old Hall, Westbrook, Penketh and, of course, Chapelford, to walk to the festival.

He has spent the past four months inviting people to share their ideas and concerns but has so far had a positive response and before the plans develop, Pete invited the community to have their say.

The event could include tribute acts, costume characters to entertain children, games and giveaways alongside a main stage.

It would be a one day ticketed festival and for more information visit chapelfest.co.uk.
