A MAN who was found with a drone and class A drugs outside Risley Prison has been jailed.

Renelle David Carlisle of Chestnut Crescent, Preston, attracted the attention of police officers after he was seen acting suspiciously on Silver Lane near the prison on August 12.

Police searched Carlisle’s bag and discovered a drone, mobile phone and class A, B and C drugs.

The 23-year-old appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday, where he was jailed for three years and two months after pleading guilty to five counts of possession with intent to supply.

Superintendent Peter Shaw from Warrington Local Policing Unit said: “This case was the first of its kind in Cheshire and I hope that the sentence handed to Carlisle sends out a clear message to other potential criminals that drugs crime will not be tolerated in Cheshire.

“We are committed to tackling illegal drugs and I urge anyone with any information about suspected drug related activity in their local communities to get in touch.”

Anyone with information about drugs in their community is urged to call police on 101 or anonymously phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
