WARRINGTON Wolves will be bidding to stage games at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.
England was announced as the host nation for the competition earlier today, Thursday.
It was confirmed 12 stadiums will be picked to stage matches in the tournament but a bidding process will now take place to decide on them.
The Halliwell Jones Stadium was the venue for two games in the 2013 competition, also held in England.
Chairman Steven Broomhead said: "We will be putting forward a proposal to ensure games will be staged here recognising the success of the last tournament.
"We have an upgraded stadium and the support for the games in 2013 was massive."
New Zealand beat Samoa in a group game in 2013 in Warrington while Fiji also beat Samoa in a quarter final game staged at The Halliwell Jones.
