TALK about precision engineering.

The remarkable work to construct Warrington's new multi-storey car park has been documented by Guardian photographer Mike Boden.

He catalogued the latest piece of work on the new car park, replacing the demolished one on Academy Way, on Wednesday afternoon.

Made in Ireland and transported to Warrington, each block weighs 24 tonnes.

The block above was the fourth of eight which are lowered on top of one another.

Two more similar sections will be built and then the steel structure can start for the floors.

As the pictures show, the crane has to be very precise to lower them on to steel rods jutting up from the one below.
