PRANKSTERS who stole a model skeleton called Bones from Cheshire Dogs’ Home are being offered a ‘skeleton amnesty’ for his safe return by Halloween.

The popular decoration was placed at the entrance to the Knutsford Road shelter to remind visitors about the home’s Spooky Woodland Walk which took place on October 22.

But Bones has gone missing and staff are saying there will be no questions asked if anyone would like to return him.

Manager Anna Stansfield said: “Bones had actually been nailed on to our entrance sign but he still managed to disappear.

“We like to think that he was so handsome, someone couldn’t resist taking him home with them – but we’d like him back if possible, so we’re appealing for the person or persons responsible to bring Bones back to the Dogs’ Home any time between now and Halloween, where we promise we won’t ask questions.

“We’ll just take it in a seasonal spirit and be glad to get him back in time for Halloween itself.

“Anyone wanting to bring Bones back can place him safely at the side of our entrance drive, where he won’t obstruct cars, and we won’t ask questions.”
