POLICE are continuing their investigations into the death of 16-year-old boy who died following a crash in Sankey Bridges on Saturday.

Louis Anderson was riding a black and white agility scooter before suffering serious injuries following the incident, which is believed to have occurred close to the roundabout on Forrest Way at around 3.20pm.

He was taken to Aintree Hospital before sadly passing away.

The investigation is ongoing but officers do not believe any other vehicles or people were involved.

However, they are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen Louis riding the scooter prior to the collision to enable them to determine the full circumstances.

No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.

Tributes have poured in for the youngster, who studied at Bridgewater High School before leaving in summer.

The school described Louis as a 'popular student whose personality lit up the school' and said his 'charm and charisma were endless'.

Tim Long, principal of Bridgewater High School, added: "Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends, in these most difficult of times.

"His tragic and early death leaves many grieving."
