A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with three counts of exposure alleged to have taken place at Centre Park in May following a Facebook appeal.

An investigation was launched after two women reported a man exposing himself at Centre Park on May 5.

Officers descended on the area, close to Slutchers Lane, following the reports.

Police said the two women were eating their lunch when they first saw a man, who then allegedly exposed himself.

But following a 'long and protracted' investigation, involving video identification procedures and assistance from the force's technical services staff, the Warrington resident has been charged with three acts of exposure.

A Facebook appeal made at the time, including a photograph of the alleged offender captured by one of the victims, resulted in a member of the public providing the police with a name, which allowed officers to make the arrest.

Police have since praised the public for their assistance throughout the investigation.

The man has been bailed and will appear in court on November 22.
