A 22-YEAR-OLD man who tried to run away from a police officer after allegedly failing to stop his car when asked has escaped further action.
The man was arrested on O'Leary Street, close to the Peninsula House site, yesterday, Wednesday.
It came after he allegedly failed to stop his car when requested.
A short chase then ensued as he attempted to escape on foot.
The male was arrested on suspicion of theft of the vehicle he was driving and for failing a roadside breath test.
Police have confirmed, following further enquiries, no further action will be carried out for the alleged offences.
