PROFESSIONALS from the child protection sector gathered at the Peace Centre for the NSPCC's north west sexual abuse conference today, Wednesday.

It has been organised to provide information on the charity's research and development in relation to sexual abuse, while giving agencies across the region the chance to share their work.

Representatives from the NSPCC, Catch 22, the Muslim Women's Network UK, Survivors Manchester, The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre Cheshire and Merseyside and Bristol University attended.

During the day, professionals focused on services currently available and explored whether there are any 'significant gaps' in the support offered to children and families.
