A HAIRDRESSER from Old Hall put her talents to good use by cutting the hair of the homeless in Warrington.

Chloe Appleyard, who has been hairdressing since she was 16, proved she is a cut above the rest after tidying up the hair of 15 people at the YMCA on Winmarleigh Street.

The 26-year-old, who volunteered six hours of her time, now plans to volunteer every four to six weeks.

She said: “When we have our hair cut or styled it makes us smile and gives us a bit more confidence.

“I was quite anxious on the day but they made me feel so welcome.

"It’s built up my confidence too. They were all really made up and it makes you feel so appreciated.”
