A HOST of Warrington residents, charities and services have been nominated for an awards ceremony recognising people who have experienced baby loss or have worked with them.

The Butterfly Awards is now in its fourth year and mums and dads, charities and funeral directors from the town are among the nominees.

Charities Life After Loss and Warrington Sands are on the shortlist for the UK Support Organisation award, Kate Tinker and Rebecca Searle are nominated for the Inspirational Mother category and Nicky Bloor is in contention for the Inspiration Father Prize.

Meanwhile, Rachel Aitken from Orford Road-based Knox and Son Funeral Directors in the Bereavement Worker category.

Warrington Hospital’s bereavement service and their bereavement support coordinator Debbie Yates are also in line for awards.

Debbie said: “I am truly touched that the trust and I have been nominated every year of the awards to date by our families.

“There are so many unsung heroes within our trust that work to support and care for families and staff during this emotional journey and it is humbling to be nominated for that.

“The Butterfly Awards are an important step in raising awareness to the care and support available to families sadly experiencing baby bereavement.”
