THE Mayor of Warrington's fundraising mission has received a £500 boost after the town's Sikh temple hosted its first mayoral charity dinner.
Families made their way to Warrington Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Latchford, on Dover Road, on September 11 for the event.
Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid thanked all in attendance and admits he is already looking forward to his next visit to the temple.
He said: "A big thank you to the Sikh community in Warrington for hosting their first Mayor's charity dinner.
"I felt honoured and believe they are all like a family to me.
"Thank you for a generous donation of £500 towards my charities, which will help make a difference."
The money raised will go towards the Mayor's selected charities for 2016-17 – Warrington Disability Partnership, St Rocco's Hospice, the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace and Brainwave.
