PLANS have been submitted to open a new café on Orford Lane.
Whittle Hall resident Kalender Meryem has submitted an application to convert the former Babycakes and Roses Cakecraft into a daytime café to Warrington Borough Council’s planning department.
The proposed café would open from 7am-4pm if the plans are approved.
Fairfield and Howley councillor Tony Higgins has opposed the plans on the grounds of anti-social behaviour, litters and odours.
In his objection Cllr Higgins said: “As ward councillors we have made it our priority to work hard and to give the local community a voice on where they live.
“This application would seriously damage Orford Lane, brining further problems to an already challenging area.”
A consultation on the plan will run until Thursday October 13.
