“I retired in 2011 from my job as head teacher of Great Sankey High School after 14 years in the role.
“I have spent many more years in teaching and I have worked in Warrington for most of my life.
“Firstly as a teacher at Woolston High School and vice principal of Priestley College as well as a spell at a high school in Liverpool.
“I was a PE teacher originally so I have always been interested in sport and leisure.
“I wanted to give something back to the place where I live so when the position came up I decided to apply.
“A shadow board was set up in 2011 before LiveWire officially begun in 2012.
“I believe if you stay active it will prolong your life.
“All of the LiveWire services help you to stay fitter and stronger for longer.
“My role is voluntary and I oversee the LiveWire board and strategic direction.”
