A TEENAGER who was accused of vandalising the Peace Centre has been charged with a public order offence.

The 15-year-old was detained yesterday, Tuesday, following reports a teen had been punching doors and walls inside the centre at 7.30pm.

Police say there were a number of other youths inside the building at the time including some with disabilities who had become scared by the actions of the teen.

The suspect was originally arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and a section five public order offence.

But as no damage was found following an inspection, the teen was only charged on the public order matter.

He was bailed to appear in court later this year.
