HUNDREDs of runners in clean white t shirts and neon sunglasses lined up to take part in St Rocco’s second Colour Run.
More than 800 people got involved in the 3k event at Walton Hall on Monday, where runners are showered with paint and finish the course wearing a rainbow of colours.
A group warm up took place on the lawn before Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid led the countdown to the start of the race.
Organiser Sophie Birch said: “Last year we had an amazing response to our Colour Run event and this year even more people have signed up to support St Rocco’s.
“The weather has been fantastic and there have been lots of people here supporting the runners.”
Volunteers manned four powdered paint stations and runners said it was a great way to spend the August Bank Holiday.
Pam Massey, CEO of St Rocco’s, thanked everyone for taking part and said: “It costs nearly £4 million a year for St Rocco’s to continue to deliver its care to the people of Warrington and their families, and so events like the Colour Run are vital in terms of helping to keep the hospice running.”
