SOCIAL media has been filled with complaints over noise levels from the Creamfields site over the bank holiday weekend.

Claims noise from the Daresbury site has travelled as far as Widnes, Runcorn and St Helens as well as across Warrington have been posted on Twitter and Facebook.

But an advisory note on the Creamfields website says noise levels are legal and are being monitored by the council.

The statement adds: "From when the arena opens at 3pm on Friday until the last DJ comes off stage at 11.30pm on Sunday, the arena will be consistently noisy, with noise levels increasing throughout each day.

"The main acts each night are on stage each night between 9 and 11pm and this is when noise levels will be at their loudest.

"Leading up to and during the festival we work with a specialist acoustic consultant to ensure that all noise levels are within legal limitations for the area.

"Professional noise checks will be carried out throughout the duration of the festival and the council are consistently on site to monitor noise levels."
