IT promises to be a busy few days for Warrington Wolves over Wembley weekend.

Chief executive Roger Draper gives the lowdown on the plans.

“The players will train at the stadium today, Thursday, morning and then have the cryotherapy treatment before having lunch here.

“We will then have an event with the fans to cheer them off before they head to The Lensbury Hotel, where the New Zealand All Blacks were based for the rugby union World Cup last year. Hopefully that will be a good omen for us.

“They will then relax on the Thursday night.

“We then have an event at the Cenotaph in London on the Friday morning, with Tony Smith, Steven Broomhead and Mitchell Dodds and representatives from Hull, to remember rugby league players killed in conflict.

“The players will get their first look at Wembley early Friday afternoon for the captain’s run before going back to the hotel to relax on Friday night.

“Saturday is game day and that is all about the players.

“We have a function on back at the Intercontinental Hotel on Park Lane on the Saturday night where the players will stay with family and other club officials.

“And we will be back to Warrington on the Sunday.

“And then we are back into training looking for the Catalan game the following Saturday, September 3, where we will fly there and back in a day.

“It is the first time we have done that but other teams have done that this season.”

The Guardian understands plans are in place for a homecoming should Warrington win. They will be announced after Saturday's game.
