HAVE you got what it takes to become a Home-Start Warrington (HSW) volunteer and help make a difference in the community?

Each year, the charity supports more than one hundred families and around 200 children who are struggling to cope and are in need of help and advice.

To help support these families HSW train volunteers who are then linked with a family with children under the age of five.

Volunteers provide three hours of support a week in the family's home.

All volunteers must complete a 40 hour training programme before they are linked with a family.

This training takes place on a Wednesday over a 10 week period at at the SMILE Centre on Sandy Lane in Orford from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Kate Griffiths, scheme manager said: “The volunteers are at the core of what we do, without them there isn’t a Home-Start.

"As one of our volunteers recently said, it is one of the most rewarding things you can do, knowing you have helped a family through a difficult time."

The next course begins on Wednesday, September 21.
