A MAN was taken to Warrington Hospital after a lorry crashed into a car on Holly Bush Lane in Martinscroft last night.
The crash happened at around 7.15pm near the junction with Manchester Road and involved a HGV and a white Audi.
Fortunately the driver of the car was not inside the vehicle but the lorry crashed into a field and overturned.
The driver of the lorry was trapped inside the vehicle and firefighters worked to free the man from the HGV.
One man was handed over to the care of paramedics and was taken to Warrington Hospital where he was treated for wounds that are not understood to be serious.
Manchester Road was closed from junction 21 with the M6 to the junction with Warburton Bridge Road and reopened at around midnight.
