A DISPLAY of knitted breasts is set to go on display in the town centre as part of World Breastfeeding Week.

Sankey Street-based One to One Midwives Pregnancy Advice Centre is looking for knitters and crocheters to make knitted breasts to go on display at Golden Square Shopping Centre during the awareness week, which runs from August 1-7.

Pregnancy advice centre supervisor Rachel Pitson said: “As part of our celebrations for World Breastfeeding Week we’d love anyone who enjoys knitting or crocheting to get involved and create some boobs for our display at Golden Square Shopping Centre by July 27.

“Our display of knitted boobs is to celebrate the benefits of breastfeeding for both mums and babies and to raise awareness of breastfeeding.

“To make an impact we need more boobs.”

The advice centre will also hold a breastfeeding sit-in session on Friday August 5 between 11am-1pm and will be offering support in the shopping centre on Wednesday August 3.

Knitted breasts can be dropped off at the centre from Monday to Saturday by Wednesday July 27.
