A SITE manager at a leading property development firm based in Westbrook has been recognised for his efforts.

Miller Homes celebrated its 'commitment to excellence' after 12 managers received 'quality' honours at the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.

Dedicated to recognising and rewarding 'outstanding' members of staff, the annual ceremony, which is in its 36th year, has been labelled the UK house-building industry's 'most prestigious' night.

The company's Barley Green site is situated on Kingswood Road.

Mark Atherton, from the Barley Green development, was named as one of the north west's regional winners.

Site managers are judged on a number of criteria, including consistency of high standards, leadership, technical expertise, interpretation, health and safety and the overall 'X factor' – a 'special' attribute which sets them apart.

Mr Atherton said: "The NHBC awards are like our version of the Oscars and it is a real honour to have been recognised in this way.

"Everyone at Miller Homes works hard to deliver safe and high quality workmanship throughout the build and are proud of the homes we create."

Chris Endsor, chief executive of Miller Homes, added: "We are extremely proud of our award winning site managers.

"The Pride in the Job Awards is highly respected within the industry and this acknowledgement of our winning site managers' commitment and dedication to ensuring our homes are built safely and to the highest standards is a tremendous accolade for each of them as well as for the wider business."

Later on this year the winners of the 'quality' award will be given the opportunity to compete for a more coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence prize.

All site managers, whether they work for a large or small company have an equal opportunity to win an award.

New build, refurbishments and housing association sites are all eligible to take part.
