THE POST office on London Road in Stockton Heath could move to a new home on Walton Road and increase its opening hours to seven days a week

Plans have been submitted for the current site of the post office, next to Top Deck bar, to be transformed into a new restaurant and bar.

Residents are invited to have their say on the move, which would see the branch relocate to a new site within P & S Supermarket.

The new branch would be 322 metres from the current post office and open seven days a week because the shop assistants will be able to provide a selection of post office services.

Suzanne Richardson, post office regional manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in this area of Warrington and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the post office.”

The new branch would have three serving positions and the same range of post office services would be on offer.

The consultation period ends on August 9 and residents can have their say by emailing comments@postoffice.co.uk, calling 03457 22 33 44 or filling out a questionnaire online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 218434.
