THE winners of a holiday to Sweden described it as a 'stroke of luck' after picking up the prize at Ikea in Westbrook.

Paul Corrigan along with his partner Jackie Boyd and her children Conor and Alex will enjoy a four-star all-expenses-paid holiday with £500 spending money.

The family visited the store on Saturday, June 12, and after making a small purchase with their loyalty card and swiping their receipt at the Ikea family kiosk, they were issued with the prize.

Paul said: "Alex has just finished his degree and was saving to go to Sweden after his masters as he wants to live there so what a bit of luck thanks to Ikea.

"Now he can try for free."

Ray Head, pub campaigns coordinator at CAMRA North Cheshire, presented information to the Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council earlier this month in a bid to get their support.

It is understood the decision is now being considered by parish councillors with Mr Head to return for the next meeting in July with more information to support his argument.
