THE next generation of sports stars are seeing red with thanks to a new partnership between the Warrington Collegiate and Liverpool Foundation College that will give 16 to 19 year olds access to the latest coaching and training methods.
Warrington Collegiate is the only college in Cheshire to collaborate with the Liverpool FC Foundation College which will see students undergo training sessions with qualified coaches.
The student football team will also be supported by sport scientists to help make their sporting dreams a reality.
Matt Bold, curriculum leader for sport at Warrington Collegiate, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have formed a partnership with one of the greatest football clubs in the world.
“We have an extremely talented team of young footballers at the college who recently won the Cheshire Cup.
"We’re really excited to be able to offer them this unique opportunity to go even further in their footballing careers. We are also keen to offer pathways for our students to become coaches with LFC.”
Warrington Collegiate will be formally launching the partnership at the college’s open evening and skills show on Monday, June 6, from 5 to 7pm when representatives from Liverpool FC Foundation college will talk to students about the range of footballing opportunities available.
