A SOCIAL group supporting pensioners and helping to improve their quality of life is appealing for members as it seeks to continue the fight against isolation.

Warrington Pensioners Club, which was formed more than 30 years ago, arranges trips and guest speakers for members throughout the year.

Last Wednesday they travelled to Llandudno to watch a musical of Priscilla – Queen of the Desert.

Chairman Gwyneth Thomas said: "We had a lot of fun on the trip – there is always a great atmosphere when we meet up.

"We have more than 60 members but we want more people to join us. I think the group can definitely continue reducing isolation.

"Everybody is welcome to come along to see how they find it. It is nice to see everyone together.

"Together we just want to continue helping to improve the quality of life for older people in Warrington."

The group meets at the Irish Club, on Orford Lane, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Meetings run from 12pm to 3pm. For further information call Gwyneth on 261381.
