AFTER more than nine years as an internet-based community station, Radio Warrington has been given a new lease of life.

Listeners can now tune into 1332 AM medium wave 24 hours a day

Station manager George Pritchard said "We want to become the voice of Warrington giving opportunities to everyone in the town to get involved or promote their news, events and projects for all to hear.

"Being an AM station means that there will be a lot more speech on the air than you would hear on an FM station.

"We will also keep motorists up to date with traffic problems in the area, especially at busy times of the day."

Radio Warrington is a Community Interest Company (CIC) staffed by unpaid volunteers, so if you would like to become involved as a presenter, co-presenter or researcher then email manager@radiowarrington.co.uk, call on 555110 or visit the studios at Warrington Market near to the information office.
