A SUPERMARKET chain looks set to open its doors at Alban Retail Park as part of its multi-million pound revamp.

Iceland is planning to open a Food Warehouse store at the retail park, which has been undergoing a multi-million pound makeover.

The project was given the go-ahead back in 2012 but many shops at the site remain vacant.

But the Food Warehouse, which has been approved by Warrington Borough Council’s planning department, will occupy three units at Alban Retail Park when it arrives.

On its website, Iceland describes its Food Warehouses as ‘a unique concept that offers an exceptional range of frozen, chilled and fresh food, groceries and household products’ and caters for both bulk-buying and regular users.

The Food Warehouse is one of several major stores and restaurants that have been lined up to move on to the site.

Chicken and coffee fans can expect to see Nando’s and a Starbucks drive-thru at Alban Retail Park in addition to Subway and Peacocks.
