AN air ambulance has been called to the scene of a crash on the M6 following a collision involving four vehicles today, Thursday.
Two heavy goods vehicles and two cars were involved in the crash with two casualties trapped - one in a car and one in a tanker.
It is understood both casualties have been released with one taken via helicopter to hospital and the other via ambulance.
Police officers are diverting vehicles from the incident area.
Motorists have been warned to expect severe delays after the road was closed following the crash on the M6 northbound at 12.30pm between junction 18 at Middlewich and Holmes Chapel and junction 19 at Knutsford.
This is affecting traffic towards Knutsford.
