WARRINGTON Borough Council is celebrating after double success at the Building Excellence Awards.

Each year the town's building control team submits a number of 'exceptional developments' before they are judged against the best in the north west.

And at this year's competition on April 15 in Bolton the authority celebrated two wins in the best individual new home category.

A home on Eagle Brow in Lymm was honoured for its 'superbly built' property 'finished to a very high standard'.

It was built by David Backhouse Construction and supervised by Paul Bernard.

The second nomination was voted the overall winner against 16 others from the region and will now be submitted for the grand final showdown in London on November 28.

The eco-home was constructed in Bolton as part of a working partnership between the building control teams in Warrington and Bolton.

Andy Farrall, executive director economic regeneration, growth and environment, said: "We have some wonderful building projects in and around Warrington and it is great to see them receive the recognition they deserve."
