THREE new arrivals at Walton Hall and Gardens children's zoo have wasted no time adjusting to life at their home.
The rare Herdwick lambs were delivered this month and will be named following a competition open to youngsters.
There are now five Herdwicks at the zoo, including the twin male lambs and one female.
Ranger Peter Cookson-Dean, who has been at Walton Gardens for 35 years, was thrilled with the new arrivals.
He said: "We have been monitoring them closely since they came – they are a rare breed and it is great to see them here.
"They have been really comfortable since arriving, the surroundings seem like second nature to them.
"I think people will be quite excited and I expect residents to come down to have a look.
"We also have work experience students here at the moment so it is nice for them too.
"The lambs will be named in the next few weeks after a competition.
"Kids from the schools in the area will come here on an educational tour and then write a little story up on their trip.
"They will then get the chance to choose names before we select them."
