AN OLD Hall woman has been inspired to brave the shave after her uncle was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer.

Emma Jobling, 40, has vowed to get rid of her locks after her uncle, 71-year-old Kevin Steel, was given the devastating news that he has terminal cancer.

She said: "Everyone knows someone who has been affected by this disease - and everyone who has had the support of a Macmillan nurse knows exactly what a vital service the Macmillan team provide.

"My Uncle Kev was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer last year.

"I'm shaving my hair to show solidarity with him and others facing this terrible disease."

Once the shave has been completed at Callaghan's Hairdressing, her hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust to be used to make a wig for a child who has lost their hair during cancer treatment.

She added: "Please donate anything you can - without the support of a Macmillan nurse, cancer sufferers can struggle with their treatment, their finances and their day to day living. It's so worthwhile."
